Best Cooking Toys

With the Christmas season coming upon us quickly, I thought I would highlight some of the best cooking toys that you could get your children for Christmas to help encourage them to cook with you.  You can use these toys to inspire your children’s interest in cooking or you can use them to distract those little ones under 3 that might be getting under your feet and slowing you down. They can sometimes cook right along with you with their own kitchen and food while you finish up the family meal.

If your kitchen is big enough you can even set up a little kitchen center there so your child can be with you in the same room.  Some children are just as happy to have this set in a play area, but some like to be right where you are.  Here are a few that I saw that look REALLY fun! KidKraft Large Kitchen, KidKraft Vintage Kitchen,  Little Tikes Cookin Fun Interactive Kitchen. Those are just a few that I picked out.  You can probably find some cheaper versions, but watch out for quality. You don’t want your children to get frustrated in a broken down kitchen.

You can add some accessories to your little kitchen or just get these on their own without a kitchen.  Children are so creative.  If they don’t have a kitchen for their tools, quite often, they will make their own with chairs and stools.  These are some fun gadgets you can get your children to help them feel like they are really cooking.

Children’s Cookware set

Every child’s kitchen needs a tea set and play food. This would keep my children busy and creative for hours sometimes.  I used to love to listen to their little play words when they would play restaurant or cook for all their dolls and siblings.

Many children will not end up being chefs or even enjoy cooking, but everyone needs to eat.  Chances are, your child will need to know how to at least feed themselves good meals.  These little tools can be the building blocks to learning how to provide for themselves and their families in the future.
