Ingredients On Hand for Every Recipe

Wouldn’t it be nice to have all the ingredients you need for every recipe you want to make, or at least for 30 meals of recipes?  I had never thought of this until I was talking to some friends who were having problems getting meals planned out. Life can get to be pretty hectic these days and most weeks we don’t even have time to make out a list of 2 meals, let alone 15 or 30!

I would pour through cookbooks or my recipe files looking for meal ideas or get books out of the library of famous people on Food Network. They all had one thing in common though, I couldn’t make them because I didn’t have all the ingredients on hand for 90% of the recipes!

If you have been cooking for any length of time, you know how frustrating it can be to look through pages and pages of recipes only to have to say “No” to almost every single one of them because preparing that meal would also require a trip to the store.

The solution would be to have 30 meals that you can make with the ingredients you have on hand at home.  Who has time to figure that out?  I started thinking about this and looked through my “favorite” recipe folder – you know the ones I make most of the time.  I came up with 30 meals and wrote them all down and even color coded the ingredients so that I knew whether I could stock up on some, freeze others and buy some fresh.

I was having so much fun putting it together, that I didn’t even realize I had been working on it for 3 weeks!  Well, the project is complete and I’m really happy with the end product.  Anyone can pick up this book, buy the ingredients on the list and be able to cook for a month without having to go to the store, except for the fresh items like milk, lettuce and eggs.

If you want to see the end result you can view more information about it at Cooking From Your Cupboard. With this system and the ingredients on hand, you can put your meal planning on auto-pilot!

Let me know if you have any questions.
